Bear with me, I will try to describe it as best I can

Central locking works from key fob
When door is opened, Mileage info comes up on dash for 20 seconds or so (I will come back to this point later!#)

Put key in slot (Electronic type) and steering lock wl comes on/bleeper sounds.

Holding key in does not switch on ignition.

With key in, Radio works. Electric windows do not work. Pressing handbrake button causes switch backlight to come on + relay click sound behind dash, but HB will not disengage!

If I attempt to use VCDS at this point it wont connect.

However!

If I click to scan on opening the door (IE while the mileage info is still lit up) it will connect but I get a whole list of modules etc with "Cannot be reached 1100" or "Malfunction 0010" errors.#

Unfortunately, I still cant do a full scan because comms is lost after 20 secs or so when the dash powers down.

Normally when I see something like this I look for a blown system fuse.

The customer has only recently had an issue (Which I suspect was related to this) which resulted in him having the immo module replaced (At great expense)

One fault code I was able to extract was "00003" from the immo. Though I am suspecting that this is a symptom rather than a cause. I have never seen an Immo problem causing such widespread disruption!

Any suggestions??

(Also, How might one get the handbrake to release!)
