Year of Manufacture *: 2011 Engine Size and Code *: 1.6 tdi
Hi
Has anybody any thoughts on the 1.6 tdi diesel engine fitted in Skoda VW and Seat giving EGR valve trouble. Can they be cleaned or is a replacement the only answer. They are troublesome and was wondering if anyone has tried cleaning one with any success.
Thanks Dominic.

Almost all EGR valves can give issues across all makes & models.
What's your problem and what testing have you carried out to pin point the issue down to the EGR valve?

We have had loads of these fail (egr position sensor failure) about £350+vat and a pig to fit. too big a job to even try and repair or clean in my opinion. All you will get is your customer coming back with light on again 2 months later kicking off and giving you a bad reputation. vw have done 2 of these under warranty when the car was 4 years old both with about 25/30k on the mileage. sean
