Saab 9-3 1.9 Tid 2006 - No comms, no crank - Fixed #

I have a Saab recovered in non runner having already had a new ignition switch fitted elsewhere. I had no comms with pcm , non start , no crank . I removed and tested Main Relay and starter relay and all were good. If I ground pin 86 of the starter relay it will crank but not start. Ecu lives under o/s/f wing and having checked power supply, I had no voltage to it - all the pins look a little green, but nothing horrific . So I plugged the ecu back in and all of a sudden I had communication back and the glow plug light on the IC flashes on for a second or so. Still no crank, but this time ground pin 86 and it runs. Going back to the ECU if I ground pin A70 it cranks, so I guess I am looking at an ecu fault but I am just a little nervous that I am missing the bigger picture - why didnt I have power supply ? Tbf I am going off a vauxhall vectra wiring diagram as I cant find the correct saab one *sigh* Any thoughts apreciated

Hi
I have had wires fail in the engine loom on these ( corroded through) in mine (both times ) it was the wire that controls the power relay.
symptom was non start & no comms
My be good to wiggle / load test wires to power relay
Cheers Aidan

Normal place for wire to be corroded/damaged is one of three places, right at ecu/where loom bends behind hp fuel pump or the most common is above bell housing. If my memory is any good the wire is brown with white trace.Hth Marc
