I have the above that drives with lack of power from cold not revving above 3500 rpm and very sluggish unless you cycle the ignition and then it regains power for a short while before dropping back to sluggish. This can happen up to 3 times before it works fine for the rest of the drive. If the car cools down it may mis-behave again or wait until the following day.
I have tested fuel supply (new filter etc) and all live data has been recorded whilst faulty and normal and all appears to be the same, EGR taken off and cleaned - visually ok and works when asked, air mass / boost readings look ok.
Has had DPF removed before i looked at it and "mapped out", i'm told the fault was there before that happened ?
The odd bit is that no fault codes or MIl light when faulty which suggests a mechanical issue but seems strange when cycling the ignition seems to restore power.
Hi John, Disconnect some sensors to introduce some DTC's and see if your scanner logs them. It is possible the remap has stopped any codes being generated. Regards Steve Harvey
Possibly look at EGR as had trouble with 1.4 Polo last week lack of power ,and DPF and EGR deleted elsewhere,EGR was off its seat leaking boost no codes as system deleted !
hi John as steve harvey has posted earlier these remap files have a habit of self deleting codes, when i've come across one the only time i've retrieved a code is with a scanner hooked up whilst the fault actually occurs & checking for it without switching off or cycling the ignition or you will lose it!
