VW light commercial diesel any - Limiter removal #

Year of Manufacture *: Any recent
Engine Size and Code *: Any

Is it possible to remove speed limiters on light commercial vehicles using VAG-COM ?

If so, How?

All of a sudden I am getting calls about this. Not surprising since these vehicles (06 onwards) seem to be limited to 56MPH!

(Is this an EUSSR thing?? )

Can not be done with vag-com or even the dealer tool as I am aware.

There are some remapping companys out there that may be able to help you.

if you mean limiters like the ones on british gas caddys' they are physically removed & there's plenty of info out there how to do them

This depends on the system fitted.
Some British Gas Caddy vans had a removable speed limiter fitted, others had an ECU installed at the factory - speed restricted to 56mph.

VW T4 & T5 vans & Crafters were fitted with a specific ECU at the factory & according to VAG would require a new ECU, it cannot be turned off or removed with VCDS or the dealer tool.

I hear certain remapping companies have had some success remapping these, but it would be best to find one who has successfully removed one before committing money to the project.
