This vehicle was booked in after doing the rounds. After a quick scan I read error code P2279 Intake system leak detected. I have seen this many times on this vehicle type and my usual fix of software update and mass airflow reset failed to fix the troublesome error. I have since smoke and pressure tested intake system to 2bar, no loss detected. Ive noticed that the egr is not triggered at anytime by the ecu, but when activated performs perfectly. Ive checked airmass (digital type) and swapped for a known good unit !Tis gives very little in the way of repair info and says its an internal evaluation logic. I also suspected some sort of jiggery pokery with the ecu (egr delete maybe) so prog and coded another unit I had to no avail. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
