FORD Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 2007 - Code P003A - Unresolved #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Ford IDS
( Optional) Fault Codes: P003A

Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 2007 WFOEXXGBBE7E75280 This vehicle came in with two fault codes P01OF air flow sensor correlation and P003A turbocharger A position learning limit ( both codes taken from IDS ) Have updated to the latest version of software , air flow fault has gone but the turbo position fault remains . The fault will clear key on and at idle but as soon as the car is accelerated the fault returns, turbo actuator has full free travel and the voltage output from the actuator position potentiometer looks clean .Just wondered if anybody has any information on this fault or test procedure . Any help appreciated.

Boost leak would be my first thought.
What is the maf reading at max load?

I have just seen one logging this fault code so the other garage replaced the turbo and then sent it to us.
It was still logging the same fault code and the sensor feedback voltage looked OK by checking at the sensor with a scope or multimeter 0.5V - 4.5v

When looking at Position feedback on IDS or Maxidas Both showed the voltage fluctuation FROM -115v to + 150v.

We suspected either a wiring fault back to the ecu or a faulty ecu but the customer didn't want to carry on so we never got to the bottom of the problem.

Feedback voltage looked ok on this one .Couldn't find any relearn on IDS for turbo actuator , reset all learning that I could find dyno tested the car produced normal power and torque . Customer described that the car was under powered at the lower end so gave it an extended road test. Seemed fine on the road and the fault didn't re occur . Customer now has car back will wait and see what happens. My suspicions are with EGR or turbo vanes possibly stuck or sticking .

Hi,
Is the one with the electronic actuator on top of turbo? if so I had same fault and I tested all components and they passed and actuator was moving fully. Anyway I had secondhand actuator handy and it cured it.

Unresolved , never heard back from customer can only assume that it was ok but with no feedback it has to be unresolved.
