In retrospect I should have run away from this one! Customer reported car goes into limp mode. When he brought it up he also said the oil light was coming on. Diagnosed a MAF problem, measured no output and replaced it. Found low oil level in the sump and offered to do an oil service for the customer. On roadtest I got no boost so returned to workshop and found turbo bearings faulty. At this point I should have got customer to take car to a garage or done some more research. I thought customer had neglected to check his oil and thus destroyed the turbo. I didn't find out until later that this engine has a habit of destroying turbos. Mileage of this vehicle is 65000. I now have re-con turbo for it but the supplier insists on a new oil feed pipe and oil pump plus other parts. I can understand the feed pipe, I have also read about the strainer in the feed to the turbo and of problems with the sump strainer clogging. My concern is the oil pump is £430 plus the vat and it is part of the front cover. My question is whether the suppliers of the turbo are covering there backsides or whether the requirement for a new oil pump is genuine? I have no desire to spend more time and customers money than necessary but also I have no desire for it to come back in a few weeks with a subsequent failure. Shaun
2 Litre I believe, when you call the dealer now you only give them the registration number and they give you the parts prices! RF5C is the base number on everything. Shaun
