Renault Master 2.5 DCi 2006 - Randomly cuts out, code 1882 - Ongoing #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 2.5
( Optional ) Scanner Used: autodiagnos
( Optional) Fault Codes: 1882 fuel pressure information

vehicle cuts out under load periodically, but restarts immediatly. this may only happen with various time scales.checked fault codes 1 logged 1882. have looked in past forums and noted similar faults listed in 2009 by several members suggesting injector leak of being the likelist reason,has anyone come across this scenario more recently and there fixes

What are the results of injector leak test?

Not sure from memory of the set up on this, but if this had a mechanical pressure relief valve in the rail, include this on the leak off test.

I had this once on one of these vans, turned out to be an almost snapped wire (couple of strands left intact) for the inlet metering valve. I cant remember if it was power or switched ground I'm afraid, should matter as it was right next to the IMV anyway!

carried out back leakage tests at idle and 3000 rpm no significant difference in amounts coming from any injector.i suspect a wiring problem somewhere but unable to see any at moment,dont you just love these irritating intermittent faults back to the (drawing board)

1882 fuel pressure information seems a pretty general definition to me Mark and no reference to 1882 in code breaker manual by peter coombes so assume it to be Renault code of which I cant access.
perhaps Mark you could be more specific,thanks.

1882 has FIVE sub headings.

The vehicle should be running EDC 15C, assuming the engine code starts G9U (the rest of it would be useful)

Time to get it on a better scan tool that gives you the sub code and some good live data to move forward with.

have taken on board your comments Mark will ask round local pals in trade about loaning some different scan tools, but im afraid they thin on the ground in our local vicinity.
can you clear up to me what you mean about 5 sub headings.

The Sub code will be more specific so would help, e.g. it may say something like 'fuel pressure information - pressure to low.'

Did you check for a mechanical pressure relief valve on the rail ?

The same code (1882) is used for both pressure above & pressure below desired.

It's the sub code that will help to pin down the fault.

went in to work today and was informed that owner of the vehicle has gone on his holiday in it. so will wait for his return and see what has occurred during the holiday. forgot to mention in original post that owner works part time at garage as handyman so will definitely get some feedback.

Charlie back of holidays came in today done 300 miles without any problem,so will see how things pan out over next few weeks.
