Nissan Primastar 2.0 2008 - Cutting out after injector changed, code P2148 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2008
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0L M9RE780
( Optional) Fault Codes: P2148

I am hoping for some general advice on this one.

I have only carried out basic tests as i do not have access to a scope or a scanner that will give me any more than P codes.

The van was running on 3 cylinders and has had a new injector fitted.

The problem now is it will start and run on all 4 cylinders but cut out after a few seconds.

I disconnected each injector in turn to try and narrow it down and it will start and run on 3 cylinders without cutting out no matter which injector is disconnected. It is almost as if the ecu is unable to drive all 4 injectors at the same time, i have checked multiplugs and loom at ecu.

Have you checked for resistance to ground?

Apart from that think you will need your scope/scanner out

Thanks for reply.

I kind of knew that i was grasping at straws a bit without a scope and a decent scanner but its my dads van so thought i would give it a go.

I usually only take seized injectors out and dont really get involved in diagnosing faults.

I will check resistance to ground and update post.

It seemed really strange that van will happily run on 3 cylinders and it doesnt seem to matter which injector is disconnected but as soon as all 4 are connected it cuts out after a few seconds

If not already done,the new injector will need programming in.Tech II, or the Nissan equivalent, is best for this.

I still need to get the new injector programmed, but I am not sure if this would cause the problem I am having?

I will arrange to get it programmed to eliminate that as a possible cause.

After programming the injectors, the vehicle appears to be running fine now.
