Mazda 6 Sport 2004 - TCS and EML on at same time, codes P1190 & C1190 - Unresolved #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: Jmzgg14r 201260705
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Solus
( Optional) Fault Codes: P1190. And c1190

Helping out a friend but not getting anywhere. Both these codes come up at the same time with eml and tcs Abs is working. Checked all connections for corrosion at both ecu,s. c1119 tcs transfer input signal failure and p1190 calibration resistor out of range. Can anyone throw a light on what these codes mean and how they are linked. This vehicle was at a Mazda dealer for three days. they recommended a new engine ecu at a cost of £2000 which at the next mot will write car off.

DTC P1190 Calibration resistor circuit malfunction
DETECTION
CONDITION
• The PCM monitors the input voltage from the calibration resistor of each cylinder. If the PCM detects that
the input voltage for any cylinder is more than 4.8 V or less than 0.2 V, the PCM determines calibration
resistor malfunction.
Diagnostic support note
• The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or
in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
• PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE
CAUSE
• Calibration resistor malfunction
• Connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between each cylinder calibration resistor terminal A and PCM
terminal 37, 62, 89, 11
• Open circuit in wiring harness between each cylinder calibration resistor terminal A and PCM terminal 37,
62, 89, 11
• Open circuit in wiring harness between each cylinder calibration resistor terminal C and PCM terminal 91

A great help Terry. Many thanks. Something I can work on. Still don't see the connection between the two codes but will get to the bottom of the eml one first.

Thank you Matt . Looks like if I concentrate on the engine management side I will get to the cause of the problem. Many thanks to you both. May be a while but I will let you know the outcome.

With the help of Terry and Matt I have done some testing but looking like an ecu fault. He took it for an mot and they put the light out and stayed out through test until next day. I am actually have a final look a week on Sat.
