Audi A4 2.7 TDi BPP 2007 - Poor performance - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: BPP 2.7 TDI (Common rail)
( Optional ) Scanner Used: VAGCOM
( Optional) Fault Codes: None

Sluggish performance, slow revving past 3000 rpm.
Vehicle has had DPF removed and mapped out by previous garage, new AMM been fitted by previous garage.
I've checked manifold actuators (flaps, turbo actuator and pressure. The only thing I noticed was peak rail pressure only reaching 800 bar, so checked priming pressure at fuel filter (new) and only got 3 psi working pressure!
Popped priming pump out of tank and bench tested and got 16psi with all outlets closed (this has that siphon system for the saddleback tank) which Elsawin says is right. Placed pump back into tank and checked pressure with siphon system connected pressure dropped to 7psi, anybody know if 3psi working pressure at filter is OK?

Engine running at idle,the pressure between the fuel filter and the hpp should be between 3 to 5 psi,
Is it showing bellow 3psi?

Thank's for the reply Trevor,

No, I have at least 3psi even when snaping the throttle, so it's back to the drawing board, I think then I'm looking at low rail pressure. Customer has the car back at the moment so will repost when I have more info/conclusion.

Mark try disconneting some sensors to see will the ecu generate a fault code,
I have seen a few of these with all the soft ware in the ecu wiped out,the result being!the ecu will never be able to generate a fault code!!

Are your maf,egr,readings showing ok?

MAF was disconnected and fault codes were logged, Scoped the MAF; and going of memory I think I had 9khz peak, will double check that and come back if wrong. Hopefully have the car back in soon.

Before you go playing, Just be aware of high pressure held in the return lines to enable the correct operation of the Injectors.

bad remap? Bad dpf removal job done

maybe they only clear the fault code in the software without removing dpf patches.

Thanks Piotr,

DPf removal and replaced with new pipe work, and re-map was done as attempt to repair, unfortunately customer has not returned so no conclusion.

Piotr was right, we had the vehicle re-flashed with original software and performance was restored. My guess is that the original fault was the AMM, but as this was changed after the re-map a second problem had been introduced.
