Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 Z19DT 2008 - Non start, code P0340 camshaft position intermittent - Fixed #

Engine Size and Code *: 1900 Z19 DT
( Optional ) Scanner Used: DELPHI AND SCOPE
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0340 CAMSHAFT POSTION INTERMITTANT

Hello all, i have above vehicle with intermittant no start with above fault code.
I have so far check fuel pressure at cranking 270 bar which is enough to start this car, i have scope injectors which are working. Scoping the cam and crank back at the ecu is good signals, i can see the cam being pulled down every two turns of the crank which is a 5 volt sensor.
When car starts the code does not appear, but when car fails the code appears, therefore i am thinking the cam code is responsible for the no start.
Anyone eles been down this road with similiar fault or any thoughts appreaciated

What does the Can signal look like when the vehicle is in a non start condition.

Hi Mark can signal looks good with no start, also tested it right at the ecu pin 50.
I wish i knew how to post image as i have saved it on my other laptop.but yes looks good just like the running signal

Sorry Lee, my last post was meant to say CAM sensor and not CAN.

Dont worry about it pal i read it as CAMSHAFT sensor

Hi Lee,

This is a known good Cam / Crank for a Z19DT if it helps for comparison.

Check crankshaft sprocket keyway is not sheared,left hand thread.Do lots of these for that code on saabs.hth

HiTony thanks a million for that, it looks like my cam is very slightly out as its just on the edge of crank pick up, where yours is bang on in the middle.
Can anyone tell me how to get my saved image of picoscope libary onto here so we can defo compare?
This may also co-inside marcs post with timing being a very slightly out.

Big thanks to Tony and Marc, soon as i saw tony KNOWN good comparision i knew my cam was slighly late, i orderd the correct tool and bingo when i removed the crank it was broke as Marc suggested.
Again the scope is invalueable.
