Renault Clio III 1.5 DCi 2007 - What max fuel pressure could be produced #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 1.5 dci
( Optional ) ECU Type: delphi
( Optional ) Scanner Used: clip

just need confirmnation what is the maximum pressure which this high pressure pump can produce? I'm testing with delphi kit and I'm getting 1100 bar I think is not enough. Fault codes ofcourse from fuel pressure.

Hi Piotr,

Max pressure is about 1450 Bar from memory.

When is the code appearing ? Low Rpm with high load ?

yes low revs -2-3 k full load
test with delphi blank rail I'm getting max 1100 bar

I dont remember the numbers of fault codes from memory - but they are related to fuel pressure monitoring

Hi Piotr,

Extract from a Renault training program.

>>> • The first high pressure test consists of verifying the natural potential of the high pressure pump. This refers to its ability to pump fuel under pressure.

Input flow control type

Disconnect the fuel flow actuator and inhibit engine start (use command mode or disconnect the injectors). Note the pressure value when the starter kicks in. (In fact, the actuator is open when it is resting. Thus, the pump operates to its full capacity.)

The pressure value must be greater than 1050 bar for a K9K engine, and greater than 800 bar for an F9 or G9 engine. (Minimum speed with the starter engaged in compliance with requirements specified in the documentation). <<<

PS. Have you looked at the leakback quantities?

so as far as I understand my pump is making good pressure? Disconnecting the regulator+ blanking the pump with delphi false actuator. I checked the injectors they are equal . But I didn't observe the quantity which was back leaked over the time . Mark have you giot that data? I mean how much ml can back leak over the period of time http://www.pandpauto.co.uk

I will have the data somewhere but first Re-run the high pressure test but this time leave the pump connected to the rail (just disconnect the electrical side of things) This will check the Injectors ability to seal the rail.

ok
what I noticed on the road under full load having clip connetced and fuel parameters dispalyed pressure goes max to 550-600 where demand is over 800and it catch the fault code.

On the face of it, it sounds like an injector to me.

You have proved the low pressure supply ?

NO I havent done the fuel leak test.Thanks for advices. I think it was too long holiday. LOL

Had a few cars in recently with low pressure errors and have been restricted fuel filter, these were faults under load too, just not enough flow through the filter, worth a check if you haven't already.

4 new injectors-almost the same , found gold in the tank ...
