Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi 2002 - Lacking power, code P1164 rail pressure sensor signal improbable - Fixed

Year of Manufacture *: 2002
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0
( Optional ) Scanner Used: KTS
( Optional) Fault Codes: P1164

vehicle hard to start when cold cuts out and lacks power fault code p1164 rail pressure sensor signal improbable .the customer has not complained of the eml coming on so I am wondering whether this is an old code does anyone know how to test this sensor I do not really get involved with diesels and don't have alot of info on this vehicle the sensors are not cheap so I cant just put one on any help would be much appreciated cheers John

propably not the sensor failure .Primary fuel presusure check , fuel filter , and injectors for start- test of course. Did I say too much?

first you need to evaluate the fuel pressure in live data this should be steady on idle 330bar if it's the 1.6 and the fuel pressure regulator at 18 ocr also the fuel pressure sensor should be about 1v

Hi John

Looks like you have the KTS? have you checked the fault code in ESi, this will usually gives you a working description of the component and how to test

Hi guys done some tests fuel rail pressure is 22 MPa the injectors are all injecting near enough the same quantity I cant get any info from my KTS esi it is only giving me basic service and fuel settings the fuel filter is new I have cleared the code and will give it another run to see if it comes back cheers John

I understand you dont have experience with common rail but primary fuel pressure - 3 bars and injector leak test - basic tests
