Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi PD BKC 2005 - Intermittent cutting out #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 1.9 tdipd BKC
( Optional ) Scanner Used: VCDS

Hi Guys
Intermittently car cuts out and wont restart, Connect a jump pack to it and starts and runs fine for a few days then does the same again. Replaced the battery and alternator but still has the fault. Also had the ecu checked and that was ok. I have code read with VCDS and no codes present. I'm going to have a check of the wiring loom next but wondered if anyone has had similar problems like this before.

Hi Mark

Thanks for your reply, It only cuts out and doesnt start while the car is being driven. I chased the wiring loom this afternoon and found a damaged wire to the alternator, I repaired the wire and just waiting for ecu to come back to test the car.

do you have communication with engine ecu when it cuts out and doesnt want to start?

I have never attened the car when it cuts out. Since i have repaired the wiring the car hasnt had any problems. It appears that one of the smart charge wires was rubbing on the cooling fan.
