VW Pheato 3.0 TD 2006 - Code P1545 throttle valve malfunction #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 3000
( Optional ) Scanner Used: BOSCH KTS

Hi Guys
I have got a v/w pheaton 3 litre tdi with a fault code p1545 Throttle valve controller malfunction - intermittent does any one know where this is I have cleaned the throttle body out thinking that was it I looked on Ross-Tech and found that its not any ideas where I should be looking cheers John

Hi John

Is it vacuum operated?

Could it be the solenoid that controls the throttle? or the wiring to it?

Does the throttle valve move smoothly and does it move its full travel?

Hi James
The vehicle is not in at the moment I dont remember seeing a solenoid on it .It is back in on Friday ,the tick-over is fine and there are no running faults cheers John

Just a thought, does it mean the inlet manifold butterflies? Did you get the 5 Digit VW code at all? Just in case it's been "Lost in translation."

I agree with Tony maybe it could be the swirl flap actuators.

What I was getting at though, if it is referring to the throttle valve actuator (the one at the entrance to the intake manifold) how is it controlled vacuum or a motor. If it is vacuum maybe the vacuum control solenoid or electrical circuit is faulty.

Also,
If it is controlled via a motor watch out for the plastic gears inside the throttle body for stripping. This is quite common in other audi/vw models.

Hi Tony and James first of all it has a vw code 005445 which refers to the same thing I have now seen what I am looking for on you tube I will check for the things you have mentioned when it comes back in Friday cheers John
