VW Transporter 2.5 TDi AXD 2004 - Cylinder layout #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: 2.5 AXD

Ok this may sound a stupid question but can find a definitive answer.
I have a faulty injector cylinder 2 but not sure what they class as cylinder number 2 do they start from the timing gear end (gearbox side) or the opposite end from the gearbox.

so if i was looking at the engine is it
1-2-3-4-5-Gearbox
or
5-4-3-2-1-Gearbox

Hi Scott,

Unplug No 1 injector and see what fault code is logged.

tried that but its not logging the fault?
