Ford Transit Connect 1.8 TDDi 2005 - Lack of power - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 1.8 td di
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Snap-on modis-SP SPi- Sykes ACR4

Fault is lack of power especialy when cold, power is very flat when hot 40mph max top speed. It did have 2 fault codes when first tested turned out to be broken wires on top of EGR unit these were repaired but still did not fix fault,EGR valve and pipes cleaned and ok vehicle does not smoke, i left all readings at work, used revive on turbo system it had a service with a new fuel filter 2 months ago and ran fine till monday. We cannot find any faults, today a friend came in with same engine, just to try we did something we dont do but swopped out intercooler and turbo side pipe, throttle pedal, air control valves on bulk head still same.Turbo vanes look ok does have turbo pressure and all spines fine, ECU pins clean exhaust not blocked.

MAP (KPA) 15762 at 800prm when cold, when 90oc @2000rpm 15763 but did notice that MAP sensor voltage reading 0.027 volts at tick over and 2000rpm. Just got message not as yet tested with a scope or meter, these readings are off the Modis.

Yep, thats with Modis been on it again and checked thats what it reads, SP SPI thats at 250 KPA when reved it does not move where as Modis does at least move not by much, eng off 15762 eng running at 2000 and 3000 rpm 15796.

I don't understand how modis live data can be so wrong, I use one and don't seem to have as many problems as other users report.

Can't you select units and change pressure reading into bar rather than kpa.

Its strange how your sykes tool is incorrect as well. Would eobd be of any use being 2005

Map readings seem to be adrift here.I have just checked map readings on my own connect 05 tddi with Solus pro and get 6200 kpa at idle,with a slight variation if you blip throttle.

Right going to see if i can change to bar pressures, i will see if both tools will read any better on eobd. Let ya know tomorrow

if Andy,s van is running OK on 62 bar boost at idle, it shows snappy,s are sh1te.

I have seen posts on IATN regarding the lack of a decimal point in some of the live data values on Snap-On kit. Maybe thats where the confusion is. I know this is the case when using Shopstream. Not really using my Modis for live data nowadays and more for the scope.

Sorry for delay internet laptop fault, changed MAP sensor new one plus pipe cured fault, cant under stand why other one we tried didnt work but it was ok on other car. I got a mate to try his equipment on, either autodiagnos or launch i was to busy with customers to see results did tell young lad to write results down but over time to answer twat admitted that he shredded results by mistake with some other papers. So when i get it back in i will read them on our equipment. When i rang customer to tell him it was done he must have been waiting around corner so never got to put my equipment on to see if any differant results. Mark
