Kia Sorento 2.5 CRD - Code P0071 fuel low pressure #

Engine Size and Code *: ...
( Optional ) ECU Type: bosch
( Optional ) Scanner Used: carman
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0071 P1186 fuel rail pressure

Hi I'm looking for some advice on this one. fault logged P0071 fuel rail pressure low. What happening the car runs but as soon you rev him up it goes to limp mode.Car comes in with 4 injectors fitted.This is dual control system imv and drv.My question is :on the fuel rail there is connector which for me looks like dump valvemaybe called safety valve . Could someone correct me? Because when I connected leak bottles to it it has got constant fuel leak and this could be the problem. One more thing drv drive for 21 % on idle a little bit too much I think.

Hi Piotr,

I had a problem with a pressure relief valve fitted to an astra van 1.7, (check archive for fuel pressure blues)the valve was fitted into the end of the rail with a pipe connected to the return back to the tank. When we removed the rail you could unscrew it for inspection, a new rail cured the problem. I'm not sure if it's the same on the KiA as this car was only fitted with the IMV.

Hi They are known for problems with IMV and also with the safety valve in rail.

Hi Piotr,

The gold pipe you refer to is the return for the DRV.
Duel point control systems don't normally have a safety valve as the DRV is fail safe.

The duty cycle of the DRV will depend on engine temp and operating conditions.

few more checks on it perofrmed today.
Rail pressure with sealed rail kit- two tests :1420, 1350, Injectors are not backleaking. Could someone drop some advice on it bvecause I feel I get a little bit lost and I don't want to start throwing unwanted parts into it . Many thanks

hi mate
no pump in the tunk CP3 system also I attached separate fuel supply from the fuel machine straight into the pump with 0.5 bar pressure still the same
