Ford Transit Duratorque 2.4 2005 - Engine rattle / knock #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 2400

Got a transit here that has been doing the rounds
Starts and runs, but has a horrid knock/ rattle noise and white smoke
It has already had a diesel pump and a set of injectors.
I got the cover off and found the tensioner had let go and the chain was slack.

New tensioner and all tight again, but the same noise was there so I removed the glowplugs and did a compression test.
low on all cylinders, but no 2 is worse than the others.
I took off the rocker cover and no sign of the carrier breaking, but the lobes on the cam look like they may have moved
Anyone seen this before on a duratorque ?

Glen,

Cant comment on the lobs, but check rocker arm rollers as they wear.

Possible bent con rod ? ( recent floods ! )

cross check compression test with a cylinder leakage test, bent con rod will effect compression but not leakage.

I,v never had a tesioner let go, guides yes.

What are the compression reading,s ?

That normally pull the rocker shaft bolts out of
Cam carrier inlet side.
If you are about the cam lobe,s do a overlap check.

370 PSI on 1,2&4 270 on 3
cyl leakage showing 80% with the rocker arms off.

Cant see any damage other than I'm sure looking at the lobes on the cam that they dont seem in line - that said it is pretty irrelevant seeing as cyl leakage is so bad with cams out of the equasion.
Its got 150K on the clock, so I guess I'm looking at an engine

Where is it leaking to, and is that only the cylinder with low compression, not sure which one now as it has swopped from 2 to 3.
