Year of Manufacture *: 2010 Engine Size and Code *: 2.0lt (CEGA) ( Optional) Fault Codes: P2146/008518
Over recent months, my personal Skoda Octavia VRS Diesel has been cutting out without warning. This happens at any speed and at any engine temp and the only fault code it generates is :
P2146/008518 - Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group A: Open Circuit
It's exactly the same symptoms as the PD engine suffers from, so i was quick to condemn an injector although it's a Common Rail engine? As it's still under warranty it went to a local dealer. They had it all day and when i picked it up at 5.30, i was told it needed to be booked in again as it needs a new injector loom because of a 'known' issue but they didn't have one in stock.
Although I considered the issue fairly dangerous, it has not been classified as a 'recall' but they have also applied some balance weights to injector pipe #2 to stop excessive resonance which could lead to fuel leaks.
