Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 HDI 9HX
( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Launch
( Optional) Fault Codes: P 0087 Rail pressure low

Car starts ok, drive one mile and engine management light comes on and loss of power, Fault code P0087. Removed high pressure pump [ CP1H ]and had it reconditioned with new IMV valve, Injectors reconditioned, Rail pressure sensor replaced,wiring replaced to ecu from sensor. [ Rail pressure signal no longer middle connection. ] No low pressure pump in tank,low pressure pump on back of high pressure pump, did fit low pressure pump to system but no difference. Rev car up in garage no problem but drive on the road and it goes into limp home mode, some times fault code P 0093 also appears and engine stops, knock off ignition and starts ok again and runs for another mile. any ideas ? Been having a few recently with low pressure faults and found either fuel filter blocked or just crap quality filters !!May be worth a go

try your own fuel supply,remove filter etc.

Hi, had similar fault with Nissan 2.2 d . Sent high pressure pump of for testing which it passed. I fitted new reg valve on back of pump. But what I found to be the problem was dirty fuel in tank which semi blocked the pick up pipe/ filter. Also when in tank check the fuel pipes from top to bottom of tank, if one is split can cause fault with pressure.

Another prime example of a "poke n hope" approach.

A catalogue of unnecessary parts thrown at it, without a result.

Unfortunate for the customer, yet fortunate for the local parts department!

If that is correct Mark, then the following declaration from their website needs some amending....

"""What We Don't Do…

Firstly, we do not undertake diagnostic or repair work – we are a workshop, not a garage – although we are always willing to advise you on the best solution to your problem."""

At least it explains the overzealous inclination towards injector replacement.

Anyway
where you work is irrelevant to me, start with basic reasons for fuel pressure starvation,
as the early posters said check/renew your fuel filter, preferably genuine & yes they are expensive, but given your already mounting costs it's peanuts & where i would've started looking personally

All my Problem have been solved in one move, had 3 mechanics[average]working for me, but we always had problems diagnosing electronic faults with very little success,no problems with services etc, so i decided to close the garage after Christmas. Happy days.Thanks very much for all the help over the years,much appreciated.
