The vehicle has come to us after we code read for customer about 4 weeks ago and gave him the code list P0487 EGR throttle position control circut, P0488 EGR throttle position Control. He has since had new EGR fitted but mil light comes on and the same codes. This has the VW group engine fitted, we have checked the wiring read code with 2 machines checked the condition and operation of the new EGR and all looks fine. I did have a problem on a Golf once Where it used to blow a fuse and was the throttle unit. Has any one come across any problems with these vehicles i know they are a pain as all parts seam to be Jeep only and at a price too .

I would say on the face of it that the wrong part has been replaced.

My question is what testing was carried out before the wrong part was fitted?
