Ford Fiesta / Mitsubishi Space Star - EGR and manifolds carboned up badly #
Posted by Declan McCormack on March 20, 2012, 7:08 pm Hi all, We have started to experience a lot of diesels coming through now where EGR and manifolds are concreted with carbon, 2 here this week, Ford Fiesta 1400 tdci which looks as if we will have to lift the head to decoke the intake tracts as have about a 10mm diameter intake path left as so badly carboned, Mitsubishi has no EGR channel to intake as just a pure block of carbon between the 2 sections. Has anyone come up with a succesful carbon removal remedy as yet as have looked at the carbon intake flushing tools available from BG products etc but not sure they could cope with this level of carbon. Just wondered how others are dealing with this new problem in our world what sort of success is been achieved as getting to stage with diesels that we may soon be removing manifolds as a matter of course to deal with the problem
