Came to this car after several others, arrived and read fault codes, Camshaft position sensor, for some reason Launch did not give a code no. so cleared codes and tried for 20 mins, driving around the industrial estate, whilst driving at 25mph the engine died completely we pushed it back to base and read the codes, same again cam position sensor, ps the car would not restart, the sensor has been replaced previously by another garage, its a hall effect sensor so tested supply voltage, all good 12v from fuse box and 5v reference from ecu, and 5v switching when engine is cranked. Left the car for 2 hrs came back to it and it started. Had to then leave the car for 2 days, came back to find that the car will not restart at all. cranking the engine over the mil is on along with the immobiliser light, so suspecting a key fault tried reading the immobiliser with AD MVP pro, no comms, so went in search of the immobiliser unit after 2hrs found it behind the air con controls, checked for power supply and earths all seems well, but due to lack of wiring diagram i cant confirm anything with any degree of accuracy, I suspect a wiring/power supply/earth fault somewhere, my question is has anyone seen the likes of this before, or have any relevent technical info, or advice, i should add that the ecu has been tested by ECU Technologies and no fault was found, tried to get diagrams off Hyundai USA site but no reference to diesel engine, thanks in advance.
