Chrysler C300 3.0 2006 - Rough running below 3,000 rpm - Fixed #

Engine Size and Code *: 3.0 l
( Optional ) Scanner Used: kts

Apologies if some of the diagnosis on this seems a bit sketchy, I inherited this job this evening as some one thought the 6 o'clock news means it is time to go home.
This motor arrived with us this morning suffering from a rough idle and a harsh vibration under load at engine speeds below 3,000 rpm. one of my technicians was working on it and scanned for fault codes, he retrieved 1 code: p0674 glow plug cyl 4 open/short circuit. leak off test results were normal, injector current was uniform on all 6 injectors fuel pressure low and high seem good (I don't have exact figures) a relative compression test passed OK. Injection quantity specified & actual match up to within 1 mg. we replaced fuel supply with fresh fuel to no avail. this thing goes like a train once above 3k with no issues but below that, it has power but it would shake the fillings out of your teeth. I expected to find misfire codes on this but none no matter how hard you flog it. Has anyone ever come across this before?

Just to add when cold this runs fine for a minute or two so we have ruled out a mechanical issue (I think)

Weve had trouble with inlet manifold swirl motors on these(induction leaking oil onto them) that usually gives fault code P1270 though(same as Merc)
Have seen a Chrysler Service Bulletin saying that the clips to the swirl chambers can bind, especially on low milage vehicles
Not sure if that throws up a code though

I had a proper look at this myself today and think i have found the problem. I Have sent the injectors to the diesel shop for testing and am hoping they will find a mechanical fault with #5 injector. I will post back when I get results

almost forgot about this one.
The Injectors were returned from diesel shop with a clean bill of health, but I still was not convinced, after running same tests again all looked good but a injection quantity test was reading high on #5 injector (4.5-5) so i sent Injector 5 back for further testing and once again it passed all tests (This is a very reputable diesel shop) They sent me a new injector along with original, and bingo fixed. still dont know what is wrong with the injector though

It was bosch cp3 Mark, as far as I can rember.
