Ford Focus 1.4 TDCi 2003 - Changing injectors #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 1400 TDCI (INJECTOR FAULT)

Hi guys has anyone changed injectors on this engine I don,t normally touch these but my diesel man is away number 4 injector is chuffing away and it stinks I don,t mind changing them but I have been told they need re-coding .I have the Snap-on scanner and the kts any advice much appreciated John

Why are you changing it? They only normally need new seals. They're ok to change but if its been leaking for a while expect to have to do a bit of digging through carbon!

just don't touch the nozzles with the wire brush better dont touch them at all

Be very carefull with these as I've been told that they are piezo type and are very sensitive to abuse. Make sure you follow manufacturers procedures and if you find poor performance after refitting they will need a rebuild (see archives).

enjoy, p.i.t.a. on a fiesta with all the stripping
examine the seats in the head very carefully as i've had to recut several seats due to long term blowing
