Toyota Corolla Verso 2.2 2006 - Code P0098, Location of Turbo charger air temp sensor 2 - Fixed #

Engine Size and Code *: 2231 2ADF*V
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Bosch KTS 520
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0098 Turbocharger air temp sensor

Toyota Corolla Verso T3 2231 Diesel 2006 Fault code P0098 Turbocharger air temp sensor location.Chassis number NMTEA16R70R061923

Engine code 2ADF*V (from DVLC lookup)

We have had the above car in recently with the malfunction light on.

We found fault code (Using the Bosh KTS 520) P0098 Intake air temperature sensor 2 : Signal too high.

We looked in live data and found sensor 1 which is in air flow meter was reading 23 Degrees C and was normal.

We also found Turbocharger intake air initial temperature = -40 (minus40)

We searched high and low and couldn't find the sensor. Autodata no good, Toyota technical support at £1.50 a min no help.

The owner couldn't wait any longer so is coming back Tuesday.

Can anyone help with the location of this sensor.

Hi
I have no experience of this on Toyota but would expect it is air temperature 'after' the turbo. It would make sense for it to be after the inter cooler i.e charge temperature going into the cylinders.

I know of systems that combine it with the MAP sensor mounted in the intake manifold.

I would second the above, how many wires has the boost/MAP sensor got?

Thanks for the replies.

We found it in the end. It was exactly where you said just below the inlet manifold on the inlet pipe.
The connector had not been clicked in after we had had the engine out for a head gasket repair.
