Hi all
Have a non start primera 2.2 dci in from another garage. Main high pressure fuel pump has been replaced by them-still no start. No codes present.Have scoped at ecu,cam/crank signals, voltages/earths all OK. Have found poor reading from fuel pressure sensor, 1.1v cranking, although self check apears correct at 1 volt(denso system).Vehicle will start immediately if i disconnect(or take return wire circuit out)from suction control valve(drv). If then reconnected once started, and induced code cleared, engine revs perfectly, although fuel pressure reading does not appear to peak as expected. Reading only goes to 2.3 volts max.Am i right in thinking this does not appear correct. Scope reading drv on cranking shows a pulse happening, but no start. With return circuit cut, voltage constant at 12 volts and no pulsing-engine starts (pump at full pressure?) If i simulate a voltage as expected down fuel pressure sensor signal wire, still no start, but do i need to be more precise ie 1.5 v/1.6v/?
Nigel, By disconnecting the SCV you are asking for full pressure. Readings I have from a Nissan Pathfinder on a similar system are 1.5 volts shows 300 bar on live data, and 2.0 volts shows 600 bar, and appears to be the maximum the system defaults to when it goes into limp mode. Measuring duty cycle at the SCV, having 'scoped a good signal, duty cycle decreases to increase pressure, hope this is of some help, Peter
