Honda Accord 2.2 CTDi 2007 - Code P2004 Intake runner fault #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 2.2 CDTi
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Snap On
( Optional) Fault Codes: P2004

Hi all,

Just had a 2007 Honda Accord 2.2CTDi in with EML illuminated. Engine seems to be running and performing normally despite EML.

Scanned codes and cane up with:

P2004 Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Valve incorrect position

Whipped the engine cover off to check for the obvious but cant see any kind of intake valve control hardware, either hydralic/pneumatic or electric! Has this model actually got intake runner control and if it has, can someone give me a clue where to look?

Hi Sean,

I've emailed you some information. It's taken from a 2005 CRV Diesel so might not be 100% what you want but should give you an idea where to look.

Many thanks for the info Sean - most useful. I suspect its an intermittent faulty IMRC solenoid - apparently Honda have a TSB out about it. The car has gone away now so i'll check this out next time its back.
