Audi A4 2.5 TDi - Cambelt failure #

Year of Manufacture *: 1998
Engine Size and Code *: 2500

Got this one in at moment non runner with pulley failure,cam timing along way out! discovered most of the rockers broken,has any one done one? need advice as to weather this engine just breaks rockers [like vauxhall]on purpose or do they also bend valves swell,could determine which way to go with this one,thanks keith.

Remove all rockers then do a cylinder leakage test, it will tell you all you need to know.

we done one on 03 plate. Water pump seized.Broken 5 or 6 rocker arms.Replaced-all fine but this was only my example .rEgards

We had one last year, it broke many rockers, but no valve damage, we didnt need to remove heads, just carried out cylinder leakage test.

We had one of these a while back. Did a cyl leakage
test first- leakage good, so replaced belt kit & water pump & broken rocker arms only to find that 1 valve was very slightly bent & made a ticking noise as it was very slow to close ( had to be completely off the cam before closing ). Head still had to come off- never did find all the broken rocker arm bits!
