Renault Scenic 1.5 DCi 2005 - Hard to start, code 412 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 1.5dci
( Optional ) Scanner Used: snap on
( Optional) Fault Codes: 412

Car was hard to start. Done a leak test on injectors found 2 leaking pretty bad, so the customer said to replace all 4. So i replaced with recon ones, number 4 will not code. The car starts fine now but will not rev and tick-over is at 1500 (lumpy). Getting a code 412 computer anologue digital converter- current. Does anyone know this code. Is it a faulty injector?

Hi Jason,

If you want to prove your suspicions, program the last injector using one of the other codes that you know go in and see if the fault code clears. HTH

Cheers for the replies it was a faulty injector that brought this code up

Anyway the car needs an engine now (big ends)

Not un-common.

The crank normally regrinds without any problems.

Who supplied the injectors ? as it does not seem they were tested very well.

after talking to main dealer they told me that pre 01 injectors will not code to 01 on cars (usually)

Thats probably a Euro 3 opposed to Euro 4 emission issue.

Well that would not surprise me on a 2005, but still does not tell us who the injectors came from. I would suspect these are re-conned but not re-calibrated injectors.

ps if you get the crank re-ground i would check the rods for ovality.
