Hi, We had this Galaxy recovered to us as a non-start from another garage, car turns over but refuses to fire up,there are no error codes, customer has informed us that the head had been removed due to a compression fault caused by worn valves....oh yeah here is the best bit he runs on veg oil !!! the car has had various repairs including a turbo due to veg oil, i know that this situation opens a large can of worms on top of normal running faults,he has tried to start with a spray of brake cleaner, but it doesnt even offer to start,a long shot but anyone had compression, engine errors, preventing a start up.

Hi Graham
I'm not sure I'm understanding your question right 'a long shot but anyone had compression, engine errors, preventing a start up.'
Are you asking if a engine compression problem can prevent a diesel from starting?
Sean

Compression stopping a compression ignition engine (diesel engine) from starting.
How does a diesel engine work?
Running on incorrect fuel and mechanical work has been carried out, start from the basics and work you way through. Even when it runs it will probably not be running correctly, EN590 is the only fuel to use.
