Hi
Horrible acrid white smoke, at idle, no misfire, I feel a bit silly posting this but the owner is in a hurry and everything is difficult to access anyway no fault codes, using kts live data seems a little hit and miss no fuel pressure reading it thinks it has three lambda sensor one of which is reading 320v yet no faults so i have been ignoreing the information provided. carried out a relative compression test with pico every cylinder looks good checked egr opperation appears to be doing what it is told and not sticking, removed air boxes filters are new in live data it has an exhaust pressure reading yet i can not see a dpf it does have a bit of a hiss when being reved up the pressure in the live data says 2000hpa on light throttle seams a lot, can not find pressure sensor and the exhaust was fitted before the rest of the car so before i remove it has anyone any suggestions the longer it idles the worse the smoke gets, after a short drive the smoke clears until it idles the re appears immediately, starts smoking from cold and it is definitely a fueling issue i have yet to test the injectors for leak back(how do you remove the pipes without braking them)I also have not removed them and tested them as obviously this could be a low pressure fueling problem here is hoping someone has seen this before to save me several hours of removing an exhaust for no reason
You dont mention how it drives generally ..is the power good and pulls well in other areas
the hissing could be the key, could it be a blocked exhaust or cats , i was thinking boost leak but that doesnt normally make them white smoke,
does it have a inlet manifold butterfly ? could it be closing at idle
Like you say the exhaust pressure does sound excessive , the pressure sensor on the 270 cdis is near the egr valve in a metal manifold, it looks like an oil switch but not sure about the v6 cdis.
