Toyota Avensis 2.0 d4d 2006 - Not responding at low revs #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 2 litre d4d

Curious as to any ideas. Have 2006 d4d which, at low revs is not responding much at all, very dead. Its not until revs hit 2000 and turbo kicks in that the car will start to respond. Customer reckons its almost killed him when pulling out from estate.

Idea, Tell the customer to be more careful.

At low revs it is not getting the correct amount of diesel, or it is being delivered at the wrong time (or the brakes are on).
What has been tested and what are the results.

Egr stuck open , variable vane turbo gate sticking , could be a few things , like Dr Diesel Keith says what tests have you done , any fault codes , whats live data showing in dead area ,

If discs are getting hot and turning blue Keith was correct
