Kia Sportage 2.0D 2005 - MIL on, no codes present #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 Diesel
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Launch X431
( Optional) Fault Codes: Nil

Hi There the above vehicle as the mil lamp on yet shows no fault code. Any ideas where to start?

Hi

Have you tried EOBD ? otherwise advise try a differnt scanner next.

( 1 ) Try other Scanners, ( don't trust 1 aftermarket scanner )

( 2 ) Try Code Reading by EOBD. ( may have a fault hiding away )

( 3 ) Try Clearing the codes even though there aren't any present. ( i have seen no codes even with dealer tools, some will clear the light even though theres no codes stored )

Some Kia's still use a second diag socket, to be found under the bonnet. I think its the 20 pin connector that comes with Launch.

Found the same last week on a Sorento.

Is this an auto, have had similar with fault in transmission control commanding eml.
This was with a carman lite but still worth a look.
