Autodata is what 99% of us on here pay for. Worth the money.

Along with ESI, vivid and tolerance, to name a few.

Regards Mark.

PS. On another forum a mechanic posted the fact that he would love to buy Autodata but it was soooo expensive.

The question is; How are you going to earn money without Information technology? If somebody has the answer please let me know.

AD, ESI etc, as we all know, don't cover many systems. For example another member here has asked for code defination from a BMW general module. They are hardly a solution, more a stop gap.

It should really be up to the scan tool companies to supply this info, in my view. A tool that reads fault numbers is a fault number reader not fault reader.

Thanks guys, already have AD but these are vehicle spacific codes and AD has only p codes for this model. Always seem to have trouble when looking for info on bm's, not bad boys down the local bmw dealer in norwich but apparently codes mean nothing to them, they just have txt on there diag eqiuptment, o, and they did mention a couple of times how there machine was £70,000 which didnt really help me at all.
I get a little fed up with how if you ask for a little tech data from main agents they treat you like us aftermarket technicians havn't got a clue, even if you prob have got more qulifications than them. O well all i can do is soldier on and make sure i do a good job!! Thanks

Apologies if my comment sounded off Sam. Thought you may have been one of the freeloaders we sometimes see on here.

I have lots of BMW info if you get stuck. I also have the OE BMW tool and can agree that the codes the software give are nothing like you'd normally see which is why your dealer seems to be unhelpful.

All the best.
Matt
