Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi 2003 - Will not start from cold - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 2000 hdi
( Optional ) ECU Type: bosch

hello everyone

Strange fault this vehicle has been eveywhere with many replacement parts.

Car will not start from cold I have checked fuel pressure which is 24mpa and cranking speed is 160rpm now her is the strange bit connect up jump leads and vehicle starts. I fitted new battery thinking cranking speed poor etc but no go.

Any help would be welcome

Cranking speed is low, is it same with new battery, have you checked the current draw while cranking?

Was one of the many parts fitted, a starter by any chance?

previous garage apparantly tried another starter from a customers car!!!!!that was in for service.

I agree with Les. I reckon it's a fair bet that it starts easily with a push or tow.

Hi Mike had one of these last week found starter was drawing 560amps while engine was turning fitted new starter rechecked the current draw 340amps problem fixed

Have had similar on a 406 hdi , starter taking excess current even though it sounds ok cranking , see what battery volts drop down whilst cranking .
