Hi this is my first post on here although i have read alot and it seems that there is some very knowledgable people on here so here is a good one for you if you can help it would be very much appreciated thanks.
here goes this mondeo starts up abit hesitant but does start up then idles low at about 600 rpm and there is no throttle response this ranges from between 10-35 seconds all this time the engine light and battery light are both on then the all of a sudden the lights go out and the car revs and idles and drives mint.
the car has been to the dealers for an ecu upgrade and was told that it didnt need one because it was already upgraded.
i have scoped the fuel pressure sensor and on rough idle it is at 1v and when it correts its self it goes to about 1.2v for a split second then settles at 1v this shows on scanner 230bar which i think is abit low. ive tested injectors for excessive leak back all appear fine.
ive put feed pipe in jerry can of fresh fuel problem still occurs.
ive checked egr valve which was blanked off so removed the blank and still same.
ive removed egr valve so air goes straight in inlet, still same.
abit naughty i know but if i put the slightest bit of easy start in inlet and raise engine speed slightly it springs in to action and all is fine instantly until i try to start it again. there is enough oil in vehicle and still does same with clutch down just trying to eliminate engine friction and drag, still same. after this post i am going to disconnect exhaust just simply to eliminate restriction, im going to recalibrate injectors and disconnect fuel pressure regulator to default it to 14-1500 bar and see if pump is up to scratch on modis readings, obviously with injectors unplugged and just cranking so i will let you know any help would be apprieciated thanks again.
