Ford Focus 1.6 2006 - Replenish Eolys fluid #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 1.6 G8DB
( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch EDC

We need to replenish the fuel additive for the particulate trap on a 2006 Focus.
Ford sell a kit which they priced today at £195+Vat.
Has anybody used the Ford kit? How many vehicles will it service? Ford dealer doesn't appear to list the fluid separately. Is there an alternative to main dealers for this product?

Not sure if this system uses the same fluid as Citrone/Peugeot but i'd assume it does as they use the Peugeot engine.

I'm sure GSF/ECP sell the fluid but its still not cheap.

I think you can buy a re-fill kit for about £75 but i can't remember where i bought it from.

It may have been Volvo as this was the 1st car with this system fitted that i had to do a fill up on. (almost identical kit that i bought for a Citrone C8)

Tom ive done a couple of Focus re-fills and one bottle did two cars , the kit was bought from ford

Its not however just a case of filling the additive tank though , you need to reset the additive ecu so it knows that its been refilled

Hi, CAF can sell you the fluid but as Steve says it's not that straight forward,you will probably need IDS. HTH

Hi Tom,

I too have done 2 Focus refills with one kit and reset with IDS no problem.

I charged £100 for the fluid in each case.

One thing of note though I called my local Ford dealer service department to see how much they charge and was quoted £150 incl vat!!! I said how can that be as it cost £195 for the fluid! Their reply was we do 2 cars with each kit.

Hi All,
May be worth looking at the Volvo kit. I was recently quoted about £70 by a main dealer (for a 1.6 V50) but I have not yet done the job so there is a small chance they got it wrong.
