Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 2008 - Injector stuck #

Year of Manufacture *: 2008
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 ltr DOHC 115PS

Can any Members suggest how they remove A stuck Injector on 2000cc DOHC Vivaro At the moment we have injector hanging on a engine crane still wont shift Thanks you all ideas welcome Kevin

Hi Kevin

Unless the injector is "loose" hanging it off a crane won't work, you can only get about one ton max of pull on it that way.

Slide hammers arn't much better at around 2-3 tons max intermtantly as you strike.

you need a proper puller that you can get more force into the job, manualy upto about 7 tons or hydraulicly upto 20 tons.

I use the pichler puller and was down you're way only two weeks ago to pull injectors in sudbury, all four out of a C8 no problem.

Be warned though there are no gaurentees with this job as you can still end up with knackerd injectors stuck in the head.

Been there, done that, personally, the last stage (& perhaps overall the cheapest stage) is to get a guy in to start drilling/boring/ etc the inj out.
Sounds harsh I know, but, it worked for me & it works for our local renault dealer

ps. I did it all first-lift vehicle of floor, slide hammer, borrowed proper puller, etc etc.

which proper puller did you try ??

the problem is if you don't try a decent puller first you could be destroying a perfectly salvagable injector for no reason !!!

so milling - drilling out the injector before trying the pulling option first can be the most expensive option also.

And of course you may need the head off / engine out for milling / drilling.

i'm affraid it a catch 22 situation again, you're dammed if you do and you're dammed if you don't

Hi Anthony, we tried the renault tool-if memory serves, it was a long clamp across inj.
This was a while ago & i know tooling's moved on a bit-cheers
