Vehicle came in as a non start, apparently it was starting and running for a few minutes and then would stop and not start again but i cant verify this. I scanned the vehicle and it came up with a camshaft sensor fault. On live data the sensor is not producing a signal but occasionally it will produce a figure and will try to start but the reading will then drop out again. I have hunted high and low for a camshaft sensor so i can test it but cannot find one?? Does it have a sensor? I am thinking maybe it could be measuring cam speed through the fuel pump but cant prove this. Nissan tell me there is a cam shaft sensor on the back of the head but cant see it for the life of me. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi

No expert on these, but know there are timing chain issues with these ( understand there was a re call at one time.)

Also inclined to agree, that cam sensor could well be the internal pump cam sensor.

Cheers Aidan

Hi Chris, Do you work on anything else or are you a secret Nissan lover?

Regards Mark
PS. see you in October.

If it is a Bosch VP pump it is internal.
