Unfortunatly this is my own car.120,000 hard miles but maintained.
Just lost it's mojo a few days ago. The only code was for low boost,or words to that effect. It would boost if revved hard but not at low speed. Vac is supply is good and holds for some time after stop. Copy position follows request within a couple of percent. Likewise for air mass. Intake is clear to plastic manifold, intercooler bypass butterflys are in correct position, one open, one closed. EGR blanked temporarily. Exhaust dropped after first cat. All to no effect. My diagnoses was Turbo control vanes clogged, rusted or similar. Fitted recon unit, guess what, just the same. They are sending me a new actuator and position sensor. I am not optimistic as both seem to work correctly.
Read lots of stuff in the archives on this engine code. Nothing quite matches this one.
Running out of ideas, any input gratefully recieved.
Phil there are a few things that you could check but it will take ages via internet [i dont have much time] so if you want to ring me i will run a few thing past you then if it helps then you can post it
EGR was actually blanked a couple of months ago due to erratic operation and shortage of time to fix it. Blanking plate had a small hole allowing small constant EGR. Enough to reduce low speed boost but not high speed. Chucked blanking plate and replaced EGR valve and all is well.
Company who "reconned my turbo" told me vanes were sticking and actuator was faulty. Would have prefered a truthful response.
Anyway, now I have a spare actuator and sensor if anybody needs one!
