Peugeot 1.6 HDi 9HX 2005 - Erratic idle - Fixed #
Posted by Paul Neasham on July 9, 2010, 4:23 pm Vehicle brought in for full service. Noted on initial road test car was lumpy at idle speed. Service carried out changing all filters and correct oil, still very erratic at idle speed with some black smoke on snap acceleration. Have had these before where injector seals were passing compression so removed injectors and seals looked fine sent them for specialist testing at Bosch diesel centre. They condemned all 4 injectors and supplied exchange units. Fitted them but problem persists. Removing electrical multi plugs seems to have more effect on 1&2(timing cover end)and swapping injectors problem remains at that end. Would like to do cylinder leak test or compression test but cant find out for certain who does a dummy injector or kit for this engine code at reasonable cost. Anyone know what settings to use on a fluke scope /pico amps clamp to do a relative compression test with regard to setting time scale and trigger cos i get all the current and not just the peaks at the top. Any other help gratefully received tia Paul
