Audi A3 2.0 BKD 2006 - Turbo failure #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 2000 bkd
( Optional ) Scanner Used: vag.com
( Optional) Fault Codes: 16618

This car has only done 69k, the car over boosts intermittently, using mytivac the actuator arm on the turbo has limited movement! the car is driven by a pensioner on town journeys, has anyone had any joy in freeing off a variable vane turbo by stripping it out or should i just quote for new one

Hi Keith ,
After mixed results with products i advise replacement is needed but offer using additives as a temp repair

I have had two vehicles in with this fault one was a skoda octavia and the other an Audi A4 and on both occasions removing the turbo, stripping and cleaning the vanes solved the problem.The skoda was also owned by an elderly gentleman but the Audi had been left standing for 3 months after an accident.
