Mitsubishi L200 2.5 TD 2003 - Poor starting, will not rev #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 2.5td
( Optional ) Scanner Used: solus pro
( Optional) Fault Codes: 21 ne sensor [main]

Hi

Vehicle cut out just after mil came on, on first visit it would crank, fire up but cut out when coming back from crank position, went back today with scanner and new access key, vehicle started just but wont rev and i have code 21= en sensor [main] which i havent a clue what this means, any suggestions, thanks regards jeff.

I remember seeing this fault code a couple of years ago, IIRC its the crank sensor. hth

Has it recently had timing belt service? The trigger wheel for crank sensor is located behind crank pulley and can easily be damaged during cam belt renewal procedure as can the sensor itself.

You need to replace crank bolt at cam belt change if you dont the bolt bottoms out and crank pulley runs slack and damages trigger wheel and sensor,This causes code 21 ne sensor,(code 21 ne sensor is the crank sesor and code 18 ne sensor is the pump speed sensor)
