Nissan Kubistar 1.5 DCi 2005 - Loss of power, glow plug light flashes, code 297 & 162 #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Code or CC *: 1.5l k9k dci
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Modis

Mates kubistar, drives fine then losses all power,hardly pull up hills etc then clears again,gradually getting worse. Had quick look couple of weeks ago and it had six codes relating to accelarator circuit. Have just put on new pedal,now light on all time with nissan/renault codes 297 - track 1 pedal sensor circuit, current and 162 - stop light switch circuit incoherence, current. Put back on old pedal unit and glow light back off! any ideas???

Hi Bryan, what tests did you carry out that lead you to fitting the pedal in the first place?

Hi Mark,
Not many I am afraid!! He popped in intially with the fault,scanned it and showed lots of throttle postion sensor faults,as he was leaning over my shoulder he asked if it would be the sensor and I said it might or might not be would need futher tests.Told me just to get pedal sensor and take it from there so here we are, actually worse as light is on all time with new one but hasnt had same power loss. usual work mans van that needs it all time!! Any idea's what route to go down would be really appreciated.

Can you put the old pedal assy on the vehicle clear all DTC's and then drive and record the fault codes?

Hi All, Cleared faults on car then fitted new pedal assembly, good road test and ok so far, will report back when I know some more.
