Ford Fusion 2 1.4TDCi 2005 - Injector seals blowing on 2 injectors #

Engine Code or CC *: 1400 tdci

Hi all

Ford Fusion came in for injector seal`s blowing on 2 injectors, replaced injector seal`s,stopped the blowby, but now car was gutless.after reading many post on internet about injector`s going t*t`s up after removal was given go ahead by customer to change all 4 injector`s.have done that but now vehicle smoke`s badly on idle and down road ,thick black smoke.have checked egr valve that is ok.can anyone help this is doing my head in!!!! cheers mike.

As suggested, did you code the new ones in? Dunno how much difference it would make as I've always done it as part of the job but you should do it if you haven't.

thanks for replies,
don`t think the injectors are coded on the 1.4 this is the pug engine.took car for test run,it smoke`s and run`s badly.
now getting codes p0263,p0266,p0269,p0272 which are cylinder balance codes,were`nt getting these codes before injector change.
injectors are new unit`s from ford.wondering if injectors are maybe faulty?
will swap back to original injectors and see if smoke disappears.
going on hols for a week so won`t be back on it for a week,running out of ideas ?

4 faulty injecors ??? or they have not be calibrated ? but planet and lexia have injector re-calibration correction for these, as does IDS

thank`s kev,yes thought it unlikely that all four were faulty,but after ringing dealers and diesel specialist`s about this and no one telling me that you can caliberate the injectors on the 1.4.
i was running out of ideas.will go and see dealers in person and ask.why do they act like somesort of secret service about info,all they had to say was bring it to us and we`ll caliberate them for you.after spending 800quid on injectors off them and they still don`t want to help...rant over

thank`s again kev will let you now how i get on.off skiing now should bring the stress levels down

hi all,went to see ford dealer today and they said that you cannot calibrate injectors on the 1.4 tdci.just fit and go.can anyone confirm they have calibrated the injectors on a 1.4 tdci,cant understand why i`m getting calibration codes for all cylinders.when i rev the car i get soot patch on floor out of exhaust so deffo over fueling. any ideas?

Hi Mike.as kevin has siad you code/callibrate the injectors on these engines.It would not suprise me if all four are no good .We have had this before done by diesel experts only to find they have nothing to test them with.We now have our own cr injector tester you be suprised how many new ones are faulty never mind supposedly recon ones, we now only fit new and we test them before we fit.Mike McDowell

I had the same problem with a 1.4 Fiesta 2004 and injectors cured it, this was a Delphi system and definitely didn't need injector coding on this model. How were the injectors so expensive I'm pretty sure they were only £120 each when we purchased a set from Ford?

hiya mike and mark,thank`s for replies,the injectors on this car are siemens.
confusing some people say they need coding some say they don`t ?guess i will have to put old injectors back in ,just to see if it stop`s smoking,then i`ll know it`s an injector issue.

we have a fusion which had a same problem with injector balance trouble black smoke and lack of power turned out to be faulty new injector from ford replaced all four didnt need coding and they were seimens
