Nissan X Trail DCi 2006 - Ok, then no power, cycle ignition and ok again, code P0089 #

Engine Code or Type *: DCI

X TRAIL RUNS REALLY WELL THEN NO POWER AT ALL.BUT IGNITION OFF THEN ON BACK TO PERFECT.COMES UP WITH CODE P0089 FUEL PUMP ON LAUNCH.ON VW /AUDI JUST LIKE TURBO OVER BOAST FAULT.

Presume it's a 2.2 DCI then fuel pressure reg is suspect .I'm sure it's in the archives

Check the wiring to the boost pressure solenoid (by the battery). They're prone to breaking right at the connector.

Hi Mike, just checking on x-trail faults. we have a vehicle in with the exact same problems you had. i wonder if you could let me know what you had to do to cure this.

hi all, just had same sympton and same code,there are two valves at the back of the pump,the one closest to the block is for temprature and the outside one is a suction valve,i think they use this to reduce/control flow rather than dumping pressure ,anyway these are available from dealer,but once fit system requires recalibrating,dealer can do this for about £70,i have 7 differant common machines and none of them will do this yet.i wonder if just a recal would cure this ?, valve cost £130 ish.hope this helps.
